Store history
Paul Reader Snow and Mountain Sports is Australia's oldest snow sports store. Established in 1956 by Nic's father Paul Reader. Nic then purchased it in 1987 and he has been the acting Managing Director since.
The Company focus has always been high customer service by a professional team, promoting and servicing the best brands in the industry.
The store has had many locations over the years. In the 50's we were in Elizabeth St, 60's-70's Pitt St and in the 70's-80's Clarence St.
The current York St location has been established since May 1987. The store went under full renovation in 2001.
In the 60's there was also a store in Centre Place Melbourne City.
In 2002, David Emmerton, a good friend and work college of Nics opened our first licensee store in Chatswood. This additional store has meant we have become more accessible to those customers in the Northern suburbs of Sydney.
All staff at Paul Reader's are given the opportunity to test pilot our products each season, a shop tradition that has continued for many years ensuring that our clients are recommended the most appropriate products for their needs.
Paul Reader's continues its reputation of being a fun environment to shop. No matter what level of experience you may be at, you will be made welcome by the Reader Team, who like you, love the sport.
The Reader's NSW skiing dynasty has seen three family members ski for Australia, including the proprietor Nic Reader. Nick and Karen Reader (his wife) see a bright future for the business. "We always strive to set the standards of products and staff knowledge in the industry."
