Boot fitting
The fit of your boots is probably the most critical equipment decision you will have to make to maximize your enjoyment of the sport.

Boots are the link between your body and the skis. To do this, boot companies use a multitude of high tech plastics and devices to create the most exacting control as possible. Marrying these harsh materials to a very delicate and precise instrument as a human foot is, as you could imagine, is a very difficult job. The other problem our bootfitters face is there are so many variables in our feet with constant swelling and shrinking due to temperature, fitness, alcohol, sleep to name just a few.

At Paul Reader's we have recognised this for over 45 years and have employed the highest standard of fitting procedures. We try to balance as closely as possible comfort and performance. The more of one usually means you trade off some of the other.

Ski boots will never fit like slippers, just the fact the foot is enclosed in such a close fitting boot will slow blood flow to some degree. This along with your body weight partly pressing on your shins and other factors, requires a technician to have good communication with a customer for the right fit.

Boot Fit Profile
At Paul Reader's it is our objective to give you a total 3-Dimensional boot fit. Ski boots today are more anatomically designed than ever and we spend more time fitting them. Using our fit profile we make the selection process as easy as possible.

To ensure the best possible fit we recommend fitting Technoped or Peterson footbeds, they will transform the fit of your ski boots. Footbeds are the foundations of your balance and have a huge effect on your skiing.
